Did you know that the air inside your home can be 5x more polluted than outdoor air? NASA's Clean Air Study found that certain common indoor plants may provide a natural way of removing toxic agents such as benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene from the air.
1. Snake Plant (Sansevieria)
Also known as Mother-in-Law's Tongue, this plant is one of the best for filtering out formaldehyde. It's also one of the few plants that release oxygen at night.
2. Spider Plant
Spider plants are incredibly easy to grow and are great for beginners. They battle benzene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and xylene.
3. Aloe Vera
Aside from its healing gel, Aloe Vera helps clear formaldehyde and benzene, which can be a byproduct of chemical-based cleaners.
